I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried!

I'm sure you can picture it.....

The party was festive and fun....the people warm and inviting and the conversation lovely. We were all sitting in a large circle, visiting and laughing when suddenly...out of the blue...my 10 year old son asks from across the circle.....
"Mom....what's a douche bag?"   (talk about a conversation stopper!)

With flaming cheeks I quietly say, "Lets chat about that later sweetie'. To which he (thankfully) replies "ok". I think he could tell that it wasn't really 'party talk'. Unfortunately I didn't just let it drop there...which in hindsight....would have been the best choice since we did now have quite an audience of wide-eyed spectators. No....instead I ask, "where did you even hear that?' to which he replies......
"Dad called someone that today when were driving in his car!"

Father of the year anyone?????

Oh my gosh Colleen, over and over you make me laugh. I miss you, Tom and the kiddos so much! Each time I check your blog it seems as though the kids are a foot taller and maturing way too quickly for my liking. Which window did Keats kick the soccer ball through? I am sure Trevor will be impressed and think he is a future Soccer League player.
I hope Kel Bel won't roll her eyes at me, as though she hasn't, right? Kellen, I don't think I'll volunteer for the night shift...although I do adore him.
Love you...Aunt Terri...merry,merry to you all.

I shouldn't laugh but I can't help myself. I think I would make Tom explain that one to him. He started it.

yesterday in the store I ran into a neighbor, upon leaving she said"Merry Christmas and Ho Ho Ho" Hanna turned to me as she drove her cart out of sight and said that is what Santa said to the 3 blondes. I tried not to show to much shock and that failed because I burst into laughter. I did compose myself like any good mom would and very seriously asked her where did you hear that. It was from her cousin so her Dad was off the hook. I did explain to her that wasn't nice but inside I was laughing. I have several blonde friends and was wishing any one of them was there at the time so they could slap my daughter.

your stories are on my favorites list because you help me to laugh at life when sometimes I don't feel like laughing. Merry Christmas, Kim

Nice!!! Oh my gosh, I read this to my husband and he nearly spat out his coffee. That is too funny!!! If it helps I'm sure lots of people have been using some choice language while driving around town lately!
Thanks for the laugh and Merry Christmas :)

HILARIOUS!!! I always like it when Emma asks me (never quietly) if 'that' (pointing) is a boy or a girl... I definitely turn a lovely shade of crimson.

Flanigan...nice work! Here's one from Joey..."Well let me tell you that snow blower beats the hell out of that shovel"...then repeats it again just to make sure everyone has heard it. We could put both of our hubby's up for father of the year.

Happy New Year!! Come visit me on Feb. 20th!
